After being started in 1981 by Patricia Anderson of the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office in California, the second full week of April has been designated as "National Public Safety Communicators Week" and is dedicated to the men and women who serve as public safety communicators. This year it began on April 4 and continues through April 20, 2019.
The #Local2068 E-Board and #FairfaxFirefighters would like to say thank you to the men & women at MPSTOC and around the Country who answer the 9-1-1 calls, relay that information to the units in the field and help keep us safe while on the calls! While many of us never make it to MPSTOC or our local 9-1-1 centers to see what happens behind the scenes, please know that you are far more than just a voice over the radio. We appreciate your dedication and hard work!
