On Monday, January 13, 2020, members of Fairfax County Professional Fire Fighters & Paramedics - Local 2068 were in Richmond with Virginia Professional Fire Fighters to lobby in the Virginia House of Delegates & Virginia State Senate to strengthen Worker's Compensation coverage for Fire Fighters suffering from occupational cancers and job related mental health issues.

Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department's Elite VA-TF1 USAR Team Activated for Hurricane Dorian


  Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department's elite urban search and rescue team, Virginia Task Force 1 (VA-TF1) was activated the Federal Emergency Management Agency at 4:00pm today. The team will be deploying a Type 1 team which is comprised of 80 members to Southern Florida to be in position ahead of Hurricane Dorian.  Check back here for updates on the Team's mission.

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Coast Guard along with partner agencies are searching for two overdue boaters Saturday after not returning from a fishing trip near Port Canaveral.
